Mona Midani (Clinician, PsyD / C)

Mona Midani, MS is a fourth year PhD candidate studying clinical psychology at Palo Alto University. She has been working in the community and non-profit mental health field for the last seven years, mainly serving Muslim clients and families. Currently, she serves as a board member and internal director at Lamps of Light, a non-profit behavioral health organization that specializes in serving individuals who are struggling with various addictions. Her clinical focus is on serving adult clients who have experienced various traumas, and those struggling with addiction. She also really enjoys working with couples and supporting marriages in establishing sakinah and deeper, meaningful connections together. Mona’s dissertation focuses on analyzing suicide notes and emotional experiences, in hopes of using the data to inform better prevention efforts and the collective understanding of suicide. Previously, Mona was a student intern with the City of Berkeley’s Adult Clinic, and UCSF’s TrPR, BAND, and THRIVE Labs, where she conducted assessments for psilocybin research. Mona resides in the Bay Area with her husband. She is an avid traveller, who also enjoys reading fantasy books, camping, and a good burger.
