At Lamps of Light, we believe our work should begin before a crisis takes hold. Prevention means equipping individuals, families, and communities with the knowledge, awareness, and tools they need to recognize challenges early and take action before they become deeper struggles.
Caught Online: Recognizing Problematic Internet Use is our first publication. This booklet represents the culmination of a year-long exploratory study conducted by our student interns, who surveyed 456 Muslim college students across Southern California and examined their experiences with problematic internet use and digital addictions.
To our knowledge, this is the first study of its kind focused specifically on Muslim youth. We hope its findings will help strengthen prevention efforts, inform future interventions, and contribute to more effective approaches to addressing digital addiction.
