Umar Patel is the Outreach Coordinator at Lamps of Light. He began his academic journey in Biomedical Engineering at UC Irvine and has since grown a deep commitment to mental health and Muslim community service, aspiring to becoming a therapist.

Alongside his role at Lamps of Light, he is a student of sacred knowledge at Institute of Knowledge. He is an instructor for Deen Connect — a mentorship program dedicated to walking alongside high schoolers as they grow in faith and character. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, hiking, and finding new ways to give back to his community.
